Maharashtra Board Examinations 2024: Revised Timings and Elimination of Additional Reading Time

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has announced modifications to the timings of the Maharashtra Board Class 10 and 12 examinations for the academic year 2024. A noteworthy change is the discontinuation of the additional 10-minute reading time traditionally provided to students before attempting the Maharashtra Senior Secondary Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams.

This decision comes in response to concerns raised regarding alleged question paper leaks during the extra reading time in previous exam cycles. Henceforth, students will be allotted a fixed duration of 3 hours to complete the Maharashtra Board exam question papers, with no supplementary reading time.

The adjustment is a proactive measure to bolster the integrity of the examination process and minimize potential issues associated with the previous practice.

For Class 12 students, the examinations are scheduled to commence on February 21, 2024. Meanwhile, Class 10 students will start their annual board exams slightly later, with exams set to be conducted from March 1, 2024.

The Higher Secondary Certificate exams are slated to take place from February 21 to March 23, while the Secondary School Certificate exams are scheduled between March 1 and March 22, 2024.
