In a recent statement, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar affirmed that, at present, there is “no alternative” to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the country, asserting the importance of leadership in safeguarding national interests and elevating India’s global image.
Responding to queries from reporters about the opposition parties’ intentions to challenge Modi’s leadership in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, Pawar addressed the multifaceted considerations behind such decisions.
“As of now, there is no alternative to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the country. Such a decision is taken based on various aspects and not just one or two things,” stated Ajit Pawar. He went on to highlight critical factors such as who will protect the country’s interests, ensure its safety and strength, and enhance its international standing.
Pawar dismissed speculative propaganda, emphasizing that the recent assembly poll results in states like Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan indicated that pre-election conjectures do not necessarily align with actual outcomes.
“We have also seen results (of recent assembly polls) in three states… A guess work before the elections does not mean results will be the same,” he remarked, noting the BJP’s success in the mentioned states.
Responding to opposition rallies in Pune district against the state government, Pawar mentioned a Lok Sabha MP from the NCP expressing willingness to resign, referencing Amol Kolhe. He assured that an alternative candidate for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls had been decided upon and expressed confidence in securing victory in the seat.
The statement comes amid ongoing political dynamics as various parties strategize for the upcoming national elections, highlighting the role of leadership and the perceived absence of a compelling alternative to Prime Minister Modi.
