In a landmark initiative to accelerate the development of the Konkan region, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde inaugurated the ‘Shasan Aplya Daari’ program in Lonere, Raigad district. This strategic move is set to play a pivotal role in propelling the region towards economic prosperity and enhancing overall infrastructure.
During the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Shinde announced a substantial provision of 500 crores for the Konkan Region Development Authority. This financial injection is expected to fuel various developmental projects, marking a significant step towards transforming the landscape of Konkan. Among the notable highlights is the introduction of a new industry valued at a staggering 20 thousand crores, promising a surge in employment opportunities for the local populace.
In a bid to fortify the civic amenities, the government has allocated 15 crores for the construction of the Mangaon Municipal Council. Additionally, another 15 crores have been designated for the establishment of a rest house catering to visitors of Pawankhind. These targeted allocations underscore the government’s unwavering commitment to fostering economic growth and enhancing the overall quality of life in the Konkan region.
The ‘Shasan Apya Dari’ program has already made a significant impact, directly benefiting over two crore one lakh 91 thousand 803 individuals. In Raigad district alone, 26 lakh beneficiaries have received benefits totaling 1700 crores. The earmarking of 500 crores specifically for the Konkan Region Development Authority demonstrates the government’s focus on sustainable and inclusive development.
Chief Minister Shinde also shared future plans, assuring that the Mumbai-Goa highway will be completed by December 24. The commitment to the timely completion of critical infrastructure projects reflects the government’s dedication to facilitating seamless connectivity and transportation in the Konkan region.
