Fly91 Airlines Proposes Connectivity Surge: Jalgaon Airport to Link Pune, Hyderabad, and Goa Under Udan 5.0

In a significant move to bolster regional connectivity, ‘Fly91’ Airlines has unveiled plans to connect Jalgaon airport with key cities such as Pune, Hyderabad, and Goa under the Udan 5.0 regional connectivity scheme. District Collector Ayush Prasad revealed that a total of 21 flights are proposed to commence operations from Jalgaon starting February 2024.

During a meeting held at the Collector’s office, ‘Fly91’ officials received positive responses from Rural Development and Tourism Minister Girish Mahajan and MP Unmesh Patil. The discussions focused on the strategic launch of airport services, aiming to enhance connectivity, promote tourism, and spur economic development in the region.

Ayush Prasad, shedding light on local development initiatives, outlined plans for a textile park in Jamner and highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects, including the completion of the National Highway connecting Dhule and progress on the Jalgaon bypass. The airport’s establishment is anticipated to generate employment opportunities and ease transportation, particularly for students and skilled workers migrating from Jalgaon.

The potential impact of the airport on existing transportation modes was emphasized, with expectations of improved connectivity benefiting various sectors. Moreover, the proposed cargo hub service could significantly contribute to economic growth by facilitating the export of perishable and high-value goods.

Collector Ayush Prasad expressed optimism about the airport’s potential to stimulate tourism, agriculture, real estate, and manufacturing industries. The envisioned surge in connectivity is expected to create job opportunities and foster entrepreneurship not only in Jalgaon but also in neighboring regions.

Currently, the proposal is under consideration by the High Power Committee of the Maharashtra State Government, and further developments are eagerly awaited as the region anticipates a new era of enhanced connectivity and economic growth.
