Electrifying Travel: MSRTC’s Affordable and Green Solution for Mumbai-Nashik Commuters

In a significant move towards sustainable transportation, the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRTC) has introduced 20 air-conditioned electric buses on the Mumbai-Nashik route. This modernized fleet not only promises enhanced comfort but also contributes to eco-friendly travel experiences.

The newly introduced 34-seater electric buses are equipped with advanced technology and offer affordable fares for passengers traveling from Mumbai to Nashik. Commuters can avail themselves of a reasonable fare of Rs 405 from Borivali, while a reduced fare of Rs 340 is available from Thane.

A notable aspect of this initiative is the inclusion of a 50 percent discount for women, citizens aged between 65 to 75 years, and a full 100 percent discount for Amrit senior citizens aged above 75 years. This move emphasizes inclusivity and ensures accessibility for various demographic groups.

The acquisition of 5150 electric buses by MSRTC signifies a commitment to sustainable and efficient transportation. Operating on various routes, including the Borivali-Thane-Nashik route, these electric buses are expected to reduce travel time and enhance convenience for passengers.

One standout feature of these electric buses is their quick charging capability. With a battery providing a range of about 200 km, these buses can be fully charged in just two hours, offering a sustainable and eco-friendly transportation solution for commuters.

For convenient ticket bookings, commuters can visit the official website http://www.msrtc.maharashtra.gov.in or utilize MSRTC’s mobile reservation app.

This initiative aligns seamlessly with the state government’s broader efforts to improve connectivity and accessibility, making seemingly distant places more reachable for travellers and contributing to a greener future.
