Eknath Pawar Steps Down: BJP Spokesperson’s Support for Maratha Community Protest

In a surprising move, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state spokesperson, Eknath Pawar, announced his resignation, expressing his support for the ongoing Maratha community protest in Pune.

During a press conference held on Sunday, Pawar not only stepped down from his role as the state spokesperson but also relinquished his position as a primary party member. Eknath Pawar is a former party leader within the Municipal Corporation.

In his address to the media, Pawar made it clear that he stands in solidarity with the Maratha community. He stated, “Under the leadership of Jarange Patil, the youth of the Maratha community are taking to the streets to voice their concerns. However, despite holding prominent positions within the Maratha community, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde have adopted a passive role, merely observing the situation unfold.”

Pawar emphatically emphasized that the society would not forget the stance and actions of these leaders. Despite the BJP’s considerable influence, both at the state level in Maharashtra and nationally, Eknath Pawar made it clear that his resignation was not a calculated move for political gain. He concluded his statement by promising to unveil his political plans on the 27th, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his political journey.
