As the nation eagerly awaits the consecration of the newly constructed Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22, a curated list of 25 dignitaries from Maharashtra, spanning sports, social work, finance, industries, and rural development, has received invitations for the grand inauguration ceremony.
Among the distinguished invitees are Farmer and conservationist Rahibai Soma Popere, the ‘adarsh sarpanch’ of Hirwe Bazar Popatrao Pawar, economist Rahul Rathi, and industrialist Abhay Firodia. The guest list has been meticulously crafted to represent diverse sectors, ensuring a well-rounded representation at this historic event.
A senior functionary associated with the celebration revealed that the guest list intentionally remains limited, with only 5,000-6,000 individuals from across the country receiving invitations for the ceremony. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to perform the Pran Pratistha (ritual consecration) at the newly constructed temple of Lord Ram during the event.
The Shri Ram Mandir Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, responsible for organizing the inauguration, has extended invitations to dignitaries from various fields, including senior political leaders, cricketers, sports personalities, and eminent figures. However, notable political figures like Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray and NCP supremo Sharad Pawar are absent from the list.
Among the invited are industrialists Dr. Baba Kalyani and Amit Kalyani, sportspersons Kavita Raut and Anjali Bhagwat, as well as social activist Anna Hazare. The functionary emphasized that the carefully curated list ensures representation from all sectors, primarily focusing on individuals contributing to social welfare.
Notably, the list also includes individuals who have played a significant role in the movement for the construction of the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, adding a layer of historical significance to the gathering.
Popatrao Pawar, one of the invitees, confirmed his attendance, expressing honor at being part of this momentous occasion. Shooter Anjali Bhagwat’s office also confirmed her presence, highlighting the diverse and influential assembly set to witness the landmark event.
