Celebrity chef Vishnu Manohar from Nagpur, known for his culinary prowess, demonstrated his skills on an unprecedented scale by preparing a staggering 7000 kg of ‘Ram Halwa’ on the auspicious occasion of Shiv Jayanti. The culinary extravaganza unfolded within the premises of Hanumangarhi Akhara at Hanumat College (PG) in Ayodhya.
To accomplish this monumental task, Chef Vishnu Manohar engineered a massive cauldron with a 12,000-liter capacity, purpose-built for the event within the Ram Mandir premises. The kadhai, weighing 1300 to 1400 kg and constructed with steel featuring an iron central part to prevent burning, stands at impressive dimensions of 10 feet by 10 feet.
Chef Manohar explained, “Cooking with a kadhai of this size requires a large spatula with holes and a crane for lifting.”
The colossal batch of halwa, aptly named “Kar Seva to Pak Seva” by Chef Vishnu Manohar, carried emotional significance and was offered to Ram Lala as prasad. Subsequently, it was distributed among approximately 1.5 lakh people who gathered for the occasion.
The ingredients for this mammoth creation included 900 kg of rava, 1000 kg of ghee, 1000 kg of sugar, 2000 liters of milk, 2500 liters of water, 300 kg of dry fruits, and 75 kg of cardamom powder.
On the same day, in celebration of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s birth anniversary, Raghavendra Deshpande of Kala Ram Mandir paid tribute to the iconic figure, joined by 50 members of the Maa Tulaja Bhawani Kalsubai trek group. Additionally, Parikshit Thorat from Pune, along with a team of 50 members from Nagpur and Vishnu Manohar Association from the United States of America, participated in the event, which attracted 4000 devotees.
