BJP and Allies Triumph: Over 1000 Gram Panchayats Won in Maharashtra Elections

Nagpur, November 6, 2023: The Gram Panchayat elections in Maharashtra have witnessed significant success for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its supported candidates, with over 1000 Gram Panchayats claimed by the party.

Chandrasekhar Bawankule, the state president of the BJP, announced this victory, highlighting that out of the total 2359 Gram Panchayats in the state, more than 1000 Sarpanch candidates supported by the BJP secured victory. Moreover, the Mahayuti, a grand alliance that includes the BJP, achieved success in over 1700 Sarpanch seats statewide.

Bawankule also emphasized that approximately 60 percent of the Gram Panchayats held by the Maha Vikas Aghadi, a coalition of opposition parties, saw victory for candidates supported by the BJP and the Mahayuti. Notably, the Congress party faced substantial setbacks in these elections, with Congress state president Nana Patole suffering a defeat in his village panchayat in the Bhandara district.

The state president of the BJP attributed this triumph to the effective implementation of public welfare schemes by both the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the state government under Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar. He acknowledged that the BJP and Mahayuti had exceeded expectations, reflecting the positive impact of government initiatives on the public.

Bawankule, BJP State President, commented, “The victory of Mahayuti and BJP-supported Sarpanch candidates signifies the trust placed in the BJP by the villagers. The hard work of every booth-level worker, combined with the strength of the BJP, led to this success.”
