The district death audit committee from Bhandara officially confirmed the cause of death, attributing it to heatstroke. This unfortunate incident stands as the first confirmed heatstroke casualty in the state from March 1 to May 31, highlighting the severity of the weather conditions.

Details of the Incident

Dr. Milind Somkuvar, district health officer of Bhandara, provided insights into the circumstances leading to the tragedy. The deceased had ventured out from his home on May 28 afternoon. Concern grew when he failed to return home, prompting his family to launch a search. Tragically, they discovered him unconscious under a tree in the fields. Signs of vomiting and defecation suggested the severity of his condition.
