Meet Evie: The Revolutionary Health Tracker Designed Exclusively for Women

Medical device company Movano Health is gearing up for a significant launch this November with the introduction of Evie, the world’s first medical-grade health tracker ring designed exclusively for women. Boasting an impressive collection of “Best of CES” awards and with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance on the horizon, Evie is poised to revolutionize the way women monitor their health. This innovative wearable combines a wide range of health and wellness metrics, including heart rate, heart rate variability, oxygen saturation, menstrual symptom and mood tracking, sleep patterns, vitals, active minutes, and calories burned, offering a comprehensive overview of the user’s well-being. The data is then translated into personalized and actionable insights accessible through a dedicated mobile app.

As a professional athlete and product reviewer, the author has explored numerous health trackers over the years. A common criticism has been their bulkiness, particularly for individuals with smaller frames. This not only affects comfort and aesthetics but can also impact the accuracy of the data collected. Therefore, the prospect of a health tracking ring tailored specifically for women has piqued interest.

In an interview with Movano Health CEO John Mastrototaro, he emphasized his vision for Evie as a source of indirect motivation for individuals, enabling them to better understand their bodies and make informed choices about their lifestyles. Mastrototaro also expressed a commitment to affordability, with Evie expected to be priced under $300 and without the need for a subscription.

To achieve these goals, Mastrototaro has championed diversity by assembling a predominantly female team, including roles such as Vice President of Strategy and Chief Marketing Officer. Additionally, a panel of female advisors has been enlisted to provide expert insights on subjects ranging from sleep to menopause. The input of women was gathered through a survey of 1,000 U.S. women aged 30 to 75, the primary target demographic for Evie, although it has garnered interest from younger women as well. The survey revealed that FDA approval of wellness metrics is a top priority, and accuracy is a paramount concern for most respondents.

Mastrototaro’s extensive background in biomedical engineering, holding a Ph.D. and boasting over 30 years of experience in the field, lends credibility to Evie’s transformation into a medical device. This distinction means Evie will be subject to FDA monitoring and safety standards, providing users with trustworthy and accurate data. The objective is to deliver data when it’s reliable and withhold it when noise interferes.

Evie’s hardware and software have been meticulously crafted with a focus on women’s needs. Beyond traditional health metrics, Evie caters to women’s specific concerns, including period estimation, ovulation tracking, symptom monitoring, and mood tracking. The ring’s design is open and flexible, accommodating fluctuations in finger size. Moreover, Evie includes a portable charger with a rechargeable battery capable of charging the ring ten times, ensuring it is convenient for travel and seamless for daily use.
