Kuwait Implements New Visa Rules: What You Need to Know

In a move to streamline and regulate visa issuance, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior has announced a set of new conditions applicable to family, commercial, and tourist visit visas. Prospective applicants are now required to utilize the meta platform to schedule appointments for their visa applications, ushering in a more organized and efficient process.

Tourist Visit Visa Conditions:

  • Eligible for citizens of 53 countries with visa-on-arrival or e-visa through moi.gov.kw.
  • Open to residents in GCC countries with specific professions.
  • Issuable by hotels and companies linked to the Residency Affairs Department’s system.

Family Visit Visa Conditions:

  • Issuable to parents, wives, and children, provided the applicant earns a minimum of KD 400 per month.
  • Other relatives eligible if the applicant’s monthly income is at least KD 800.
  • Requires round-trip tickets on national carriers.
  • Written undertaking not to convert the visit visa to a residency visa.
  • Commitment to the specified duration of the visit.
  • Medical treatment restricted to private hospitals if necessary during the visit.
  • Violation of the duration period may lead to legal procedures for both the visitor and sponsor.

Commercial Visit Visa Conditions:

  • Issuable upon request from Kuwaiti companies and institutions to individuals with proper academic or artistic qualifications aligned with the company’s activity.
  • Violations of stay periods may result in legal consequences and potential inclusion in a security control system.

As these new rules take effect, individuals seeking Kuwait visas are advised to carefully adhere to the stipulated conditions to ensure a smooth and lawful application process.
