India-Saudi Arabia Joint Military Exercise ‘SADA TANSEEQ’ Kicks Off in Rajasthan

In a significant step towards enhancing military cooperation, the inaugural edition of the India-Saudi Arabia Joint Military Exercise, named ‘SADA TANSEEQ,’ commenced today at Mahajan, Rajasthan. Running from January 29 to February 10, 2024, the exercise brings together a contingent of 45 personnel from both the Royal Saudi Land Forces and the Indian Army’s Brigade of the Guards (Mechanised Infantry).

The primary objective of ‘SADA TANSEEQ’ is to train troops from both nations for joint operations in semi-desert terrain, aligning with Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter. The exercise aims to facilitate the sharing of best practices in tactics, techniques, and procedures for operations in the sub-conventional domain. Additionally, it seeks to enhance interoperability, camaraderie, and mutual understanding among the participating troops.

The exercise’s agenda includes various training activities such as the establishment of a Mobile Vehicle Check Post, Cordon & Search Operation, House Intervention Drill, Reflex Shooting, Slithering, and Sniper Firing. These drills are designed to hone the skills and coordination of the participating contingents in challenging scenarios.

‘SADA TANSEEQ’ serves as a platform for strengthening the bond between the Indian and Saudi Arabian contingents, fostering cooperation in achieving shared security objectives. Beyond its military significance, the exercise aims to elevate the level of defense cooperation and contribute to the broader enhancement of bilateral relations between the two friendly nations.
