Glittering Gems and Dazzling Diamonds: Celebrities Prepare to Shine on Oscars Red Carpet

As the anticipation for the 96th Academy Awards reaches its peak, Hollywood’s elite are gearing up to grace the Oscars red carpet adorned in an array of diamonds and precious gemstones. Tiffany & Co., among other esteemed jewelers, is set to play a pivotal role in enhancing the glamour of the star-studded affair.

Diamonds and gemstones will take center stage on the Oscars red carpet, serving as the perfect complement to the luxurious gowns and sparkling jewelry that will be showcased on Sunday. Victoria Reynolds, Chief Gemologist and Vice President of Global Merchandising, High Jewelry, at Tiffany & Co., shared insights on the anticipated trend, stating, “I think you’re going to see diamonds, diamonds, and a lot of big diamonds,” in an exclusive interview with Reuters.

Tiffany & Co. is just one of several jewelers that will be adorning celebrities with exquisite necklaces, earrings, brooches, and other dazzling pieces. In the weeks leading up to the Oscars, these renowned jewelers have lent out their creations, with the Oscars serving as the grand finale of the awards season and the ultimate platform for high-end fashion and jewelry.

“The Oscars is always, of course, the showcase for incredible gemstones,” Reynolds emphasized. Notable instances include Oscar nominee Emily Blunt, who graced the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards wearing Tiffany & Co.’s diamond and 18k gold leaves necklace and fan earrings designed by Jean Schlumberger. Similarly, singer Dua Lipa adorned herself with a Tiffany & Co. bracelet in platinum and 18k gold, set with orange sapphires, and matching earrings at the BAFTA Film Awards.

Jean Schlumberger’s creations, such as the leaves necklace worn by Blunt, exemplify the prevailing trend on the red carpet – beautiful diamond necklaces with volume and whimsy. Reynolds noted that significant earrings also remain a prominent red carpet trend.

Even male celebrities are not immune to the allure of gemstones and diamonds, as evidenced by Oscar nominee Colman Domingo and actor John Krasinski, husband to Emily Blunt. Krasinski added a touch of sparkle to his suit with a Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Paris Flames brooch in yellow gold with diamonds at the Critics Choice Awards, proving that self-expression through jewelry is not limited to female counterparts.

As the 96th Academy Awards approach, the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, is poised to transform into a dazzling spectacle of high fashion and exquisite jewelry on March 10, 2024. The Oscars red carpet will undoubtedly be a showcase of opulence, where diamonds and precious gemstones will play a leading role in defining the epitome of glamour.
