PCMC recruitment exam results on hold till re-test for 83 absent candidates

The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has decided to delay the release of recruitment exam results for approximately 55,000 candidates until a supplementary exam can be arranged for the 83 candidates who were absent. Deputy Municipal Commissioner Vithal Joshi informed The Indian Express that the reason for their absence was a conflicting UPSC exam scheduled on the same day. The PCMC conducted exams at 98 centers across the state for 15 different positions.

Upon learning about the situation, the PCMC requested candidates with overlapping UPSC and PCMC exams on May 28 to notify them. Out of the 366 candidates who reported the conflict, 283 were able to appear for the rescheduled exam on May 27, while 83 were unable to do so.

The administration intends to conduct the makeup exam in July and will coordinate with Tata Consultancy Services, the exam conducting authority, for its arrangements. Consequently, the announcement of results, originally expected within three weeks, will now be delayed by over a month. Joshi mentioned the possibility of declaring results for some of the positions in the coming week, but further discussions are needed to determine the feasibility.
