X Blue Subscribers Can Now Hide Their Verification Checkmark on Twitter: Here’s How to Enable It

Twitter, now known as X, has introduced a new feature for its paid subscribers called X Blue. Subscribers can now choose to hide the verification checkmark on their profile and posts. The company has updated its ‘About X Blue’ page on the help center to reflect this change, but it’s worth noting that the checkmark may still appear in some areas or features of the platform.

The decision to hide the verification checkmark can be beneficial for individuals who have subscribed to X Blue but prefer not to display that they are paying for X’s services. To enable this feature, subscribers can head to the ‘Profile customization’ section in their Twitter account settings and enable ‘Hide your blue checkmark.’

X Blue, previously known as Twitter Blue, was relaunched by Elon Musk in November of the previous year. It offers several exclusive features for paid subscribers, including the coveted blue checkmark. These checkmarks were also a topic of discussion in April when Musk decided to remove all legacy blue checkmarks from accounts of public interest.

In addition to the checkmark feature, X has also introduced a new capability for Twitter Blue subscribers, allowing them to download videos shared by other users on the platform. This feature is available exclusively to Twitter Blue subscribers and allows verified users to download videos from certain tweets for offline viewing or creative remixing to create new content. However, it’s important to note that this feature is not available for verified accounts of users under 18 years of age.

Recently, X also introduced a new privacy setting for Twitter Blue subscribers. This setting allows users to make their accounts private, meaning only approved followers can view and download their videos. Users with a verified X account can download all new videos unless the poster chooses to opt out. However, it’s essential to disable downloads for each tweet with a video individually as there is currently no option to do it for all of them at once.

Overall, these updates and features demonstrate X’s continuous efforts to cater to the preferences and needs of its subscribers while enhancing the user experience on the platform. Subscribers can now have more control over how their profiles are presented and enjoy exclusive features like video downloads for an enhanced Twitter experience.
