Revolutionizing Healthcare: National Conference Emphasizes AI’s Role in Patient Care

The Symbiosis College of Nursing, in collaboration with the QMB Department under the guidance of Dr. Rajiv Yeravdekar, Provost, Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences, SIU, recently organized a groundbreaking National Conference titled “Tech-Health: Demystify and Accept Artificial Intelligence.”

The inaugural ceremony, graced by Chief Guest GP Capt SA Raheem, Radiologist, Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, witnessed the enlightening keynote address by Dr. T. Dileep Kumar, President of the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi.

In his address, GP Capt SA Raheem shed light on the intersection of technology and healthcare, providing a concise overview of machine learning and deep learning. Emphasizing the potential benefits of integrating AI with military services, he highlighted its prospective advantages in enhancing military operations.

Contrary to concerns, Dr. T. Dileep Kumar assured the audience that AI integration does not threaten nursing jobs; instead, it enhances patient care. He delved into the latest developments in the field, stressing the growing significance of AI in nursing education. Notably, he highlighted governmental efforts, including amendments to the INC Act and the introduction of midwifery commission codes.

The conference boasted an impressive lineup of speakers, including luminaries like Padma Shri Dr. Raman Gangakhedkar and Dr. Arun Jamkar, a Distinguished Professor at the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, Symbiosis International University. Mr. Shishir Vaidya from the National HRD Network, Pune Chapter, also contributed valuable insights.

Dr. Rajiv Yeravdekar, Provost, Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, highlighted the importance of AI in future healthcare. Dr. Sonopant Joshi, Director, Symbiosis College of Nursing, SIU, Pune, delivered a warm welcome address.

Participants from 10 different states in India and two universities from Japan convened, creating a platform for healthcare professionals, researchers, educators, and policymakers to explore the interdisciplinary intersection of technology and healthcare.
