In the contemporary hustle, unhealthy eating habits such as skipping breakfast or indulging in late-night dinners have become commonplace. However, the study suggests that regulating meal timings can significantly mitigate the risk of deadly diseases.

The research, involving over 103,000 participants with an average age of 42, establishes a compelling connection between meal timing and heart diseases. Individuals who consume their first meal at 9 am face a 6% higher likelihood of developing heart diseases compared to those who dine an hour earlier. Moreover, eating after 9 pm is associated with a 28% lower risk of cerebrovascular diseases, especially strokes, particularly in women.

The intricate association revealed in the study underscores the importance of breakfast timing. Delays of even one hour in having the first meal of the day can contribute to a 6% increase in the risk of heart diseases over time. Similarly, the study highlights that having dinner as late as 9 pm or beyond is linked to a substantial 28% increase in the risk of strokes compared to those who finish dinner before 8 pm.

Experts emphasize the significance of longer durations of night fasting, advocating for a reasonable gap between the last meal of the day and the first meal of the following day. This, they argue, is a key factor in reducing the risk of cerebrovascular diseases, particularly strokes.
