Pune Introduces ‘e-Hakk’ System to Streamline Land Records Applications in Maharashtra

The Land Records Department in Maharashtra has launched the ‘e-Hakk’ system to simplify various crucial tasks related to land records, such as registering heirs, updating information for deceased individuals, and managing bank loans on Satbara Utara (7/12 land extracts). This online platform not only offers convenience for applicants to submit their applications but also provides a mechanism to rectify any errors in the application forms.

Previously, applicants were required to visit the Talathi office to submit alteration registration applications. However, the state government has now made the e-Hakk system available, eliminating the need for physical visits. So far, more than two crore online transactions have been recorded through this system, with approximately twenty-six and a half lakh entries based on the registered list.

Here is a step-by-step guide on how the application process works:

  1. Visit the e-Hakk website and select your district, taluka, and village.
  2. Fill in the necessary details for the modification application.
  3. After submission, the application will appear in the Talathi login.
  4. Upon approval, the Talathi will record the relevant changes.
  5. Applicants will receive SMS notifications regarding the progress of their applications. Accepted applications will receive an SMS notification with the modification number. If any errors are found, the applicant will receive an SMS requesting them to correct the application. Thus, the e-Hakk system not only simplifies the application process but also provides real-time updates through SMS.

Sarita Narake, the State Director of the Information Technology Cell in the Revenue Department, encourages individuals who require regular modifications to utilize this online facility. The e-Hakk system offers nine types of online documents, including inheritance registration, updating information for deceased individuals, debt management, e-contract registration, and more.

With the introduction of the e-Hakk system, Maharashtra aims to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accessibility in land records management. This digital platform empowers citizens by providing a user-friendly interface and reducing the need for physical paperwork and visits to government offices. By embracing technology, the Land Records Department is simplifying processes and improving the overall experience for applicants in Maharashtra.
