Genshin Impact 4.2 Banners: New Characters and Weapons Unveiled!

As Genshin Impact 4.1 draws to a close with the departure of Neuvillette and Hu Tao banners, fans of this wildly popular open-world action RPG can’t help but anticipate what’s in store for them in Genshin Impact 4.2. While it may not be right around the corner, there are plenty of reasons to get excited. The upcoming update promises a map expansion to Fontaine, the next chapter in the Archon questline, and more, as we’ve explored in our Genshin Impact 4.2 leaks and rumors article. For those eager to know which characters and weapons will grace the Genshin Impact 4.2 banners, you’ve come to the right place.

Genshin Impact 4.2 Banners: Who’s Joining the Party?

The character banners in Genshin Impact 4.2 will follow the familiar two-phase format, with each phase featuring a duo of 5-star and 4-star characters. Here’s the breakdown:

Phase 1 (November 8 – November 29):

  • 5* Characters: Furina and Baizhu
  • 4* Characters: Charolette, Beidou, and Collei
  • Weapon Banner: 5* Splendor of Tranquil Waters (Confirmed) and Jadefall’s Splendor (Confirmed).

Phase 2 (November 29 – December 20):

  • 5* Characters: Ayato and Cyno
  • 4* Characters: Kirara, Xiangling, Kuki Shinobu
  • Weapon Banner: 5* Haran Gepaku Futsu (Expected) and Staff of the Scarlet Sands (Expected)

In the first phase, players can look forward to Furina and Baizhu. Furina is a sassy archon known as Focalors, and she serves as an off-field DPS/Support character, making her a great addition for Pyro units. Baizhu, her counterpart, is a healer, and it seems Furina’s banner will shine a little brighter during this phase.

The second phase brings Kamisato Ayato, head of the Yashiro Commission, and Cyno, the General Mahamatra of the Akademia. Their weapon banner features Haran Gepaku Futsu and the Staff of the Scarlet Sands, both tailored to complement the characters’ abilities.

What About 4-Star Weapons?

As of now, detailed information on the 4-star weapons is scarce, but leaks should start trickling in over the next few weeks. Interestingly, this is one of the rare instances where four-star characters have been revealed a full month ahead of the version’s release.

Understanding Genshin Impact Banners

For those new to the game, Genshin Impact offers three types of banners: Limited Time Character, Weapon, and Permanent banners. The first two are limited, while the last is, as the name suggests, permanent. Each Genshin Impact version is divided into two phases, with each phase featuring two limited-time character banners and one weapon banner. Each phase lasts for 21 days, and one patch, comprising both phases, spans a total of 42 days.
