Samsung Wallet Users Can Now Save Personal IDs, Documents

Samsung has taken a significant step towards providing its users with enhanced convenience and security by introducing the all-new ‘Samsung Wallet.’ With this latest feature, Galaxy smartphone users can easily access their crucial digital IDs, including Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Driving License, and Vehicle Registration Certificates, all in one secure environment.

A notable addition to the Samsung Wallet is the ability for users to conveniently store their Co-WIN vaccination certificates, making it simpler to access this vital information whenever needed. In addition to these ID-related features, Samsung has integrated various travel and mobility functionalities into the Wallet, merging and elevating the existing attributes of Samsung Pay and Samsung Pass on Galaxy smartphones.

“With Samsung Wallet, we are offering consumers an entirely safe and secure environment for accessing their cards, IDs, and documents, bringing a new level of everyday convenience to mobile devices. This also strengthens our commitment to being a strong partner of India with our vision of Powering Digital India,” stated Reshma Virmani, Director, Services & Engagement, Samsung India.

The newly introduced travel and mobility features offer users seamless card Tap and Pay experiences, UPI payments, and bill payments. Galaxy smartphone owners can now conveniently recharge and check their FASTag accounts, save their flight boarding passes for quick access, and enjoy a complete train ticket solution within Samsung Wallet, encompassing ticket booking, saving, and checking train statuses.

Adding train tickets or boarding passes to the Samsung Wallet is a breeze, as users can scan QR or barcodes, or import images or PDFs directly into the application. Furthermore, Samsung assures its users that none of this information will be stored by the company. All details will be displayed within the Samsung Wallet app on the device itself, ensuring privacy and data security.

Another remarkable feature is the ability to display proof of identity and travel documents directly from Samsung Wallet, making airport entry more convenient for users. Additionally, Samsung Wallet offers access to over 2,000 other IDs and documents, further enhancing its practicality.

The development of these innovative features for Samsung Wallet was carried out by a dedicated team of engineers, designers, and product managers at the Samsung R&D Institute in Bangalore (SRI-B).

For existing Galaxy smartphone users, transitioning to Samsung Wallet is hassle-free. Users can update their current Samsung Pay service to Samsung Wallet through the Galaxy Store, unlocking a world of enhanced convenience and security at their fingertips.
