SBI Foundation, the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of the State Bank Group, has announced the commencement of applications for the 12th batch of the SBI Youth for India Fellowship programme.

Inspired by the US Peace Corps model, this 13-month-long fellowship offers a structured platform for educated urban youth, aged between 21 and 32 years, to collaborate with rural communities and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) across India, aiming to foster significant societal change.

Eligible applicants, who must be Indian citizens or possess Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) status, are encouraged to apply if they are dedicated to advancing sustainable development goals in rural areas.

The SBI Youth for India Fellowship encompasses 12 thematic areas, including health, rural livelihood, food security, environmental protection, education, water management, technology, women’s empowerment, self-governance, social entrepreneurship, traditional crafts, and alternate energy.

Since its inception, the programme has left a profound impact, boasting a growing alumni network of over 580 individuals. Through the efforts of these fellows, more than 1.5 lakh lives have been positively influenced across 250 villages spanning 20 states in India, as highlighted by the SBI Foundation.

Sanjay Prakash, Managing Director & CEO of SBI Foundation, expressed the program’s unwavering commitment to empowering youth and catalyzing transformative change in rural communities.
