Retired Forest Official Sanjay Marne Launches Book on Honeybees in Chandrapur


In a significant endeavor for environmental conservation, retired forest official Sanjay Marne unveiled his book titled ‘Madhmashi – Sanrakshan va Samvardhan’ at an event in Chandrapur on February 24. The book is dedicated to the critical cause of saving and preserving honeybees.

Sanjay Marne, with a rich background in the Pune Forest Department, expressed his commitment to fostering natural habitats for honeybees, free from harmful pesticides. The launch event saw the author emphasizing the vital role of honeybees in pollination and the overall health of ecosystems.

In a noteworthy move, Sanjay Marne has written to Sudhir Mungantiwar, Cabinet Minister for Forests, Cultural Affairs, and Fisheries in the Maharashtra Government, urging the declaration of honeybees as ‘Rajya Kitak (State Pest)’ of Maharashtra. This initiative aims to elevate the status of honeybees within the state’s conservation framework.
