New Delhi to Welcome Global Cement Experts for 17th ICCC in 2027

India has achieved a significant milestone by winning the bid to host the esteemed International Congress on the Chemistry of Cement (ICCC) in New Delhi in 2027.

India’s leading research and academic institutions, the National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCCBM) and IIT Delhi, presented India’s bid successfully before the Steering Committee members of the Conference during the ongoing 16th ICCC in Bangkok, Thailand. Competing against Switzerland and the UAE, India’s bid emerged victorious, and the decision was officially announced on September 20th, 2023, at the 16th ICCC in Bangkok. Dr. L P Singh, Director General of NCCBM, Dr. S K Chaturvedi, Joint Director of NCCBM, and Dr. Shashank Bishnoi, Professor of Civil Engineering at IIT Delhi, represented India during the bid presentation.

The International Congress on the Chemistry of Cement is the largest and most prestigious event of its kind, focusing on the progress of research in the field of Cement and Concrete. These congresses, held at intervals of four to six years since 1918, serve as a vital connection between the academic world and the cement industry. India previously hosted the 9th Congress in New Delhi in 1992, organized by NCCBM, and now, it is set to host the 17th ICCC in 2027.
