Maharashtra Home Department Issues Advisory for Peaceful Shivjayanti Celebrations

The Maharashtra state home department has issued a comprehensive advisory to all police commissionerates and superintendent of police offices across the state ahead of the upcoming Shivjayanti celebrations. The advisory aims to ensure law and order during the processions and related events.

The department has directed the police to take robust measures to prevent any potential threats to law and order arising from group rivalries, incidents of molestation, communal tensions, sound pollution, alterations to the procession route, delays in processions, the delivery of provocative slogans, and the playing of objectionable songs.

Last year, the state reported 13 cases related to untoward incidents during the Shivjayanti processions, prompting the home department to issue proactive guidelines this year. The focus is on creating an environment of safety and security during the celebrations, emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace and avoiding any activities that may disrupt the harmony of the event.

The advisory serves as a reminder to law enforcement agencies to be vigilant and take necessary actions to curb any potential disruptions. The state home department aims to ensure that the Shivjayanti celebrations are marked by a spirit of unity and respect for law and order.
