Pune, 25th May 2024: Addressing the critical need for women’s health and hygiene in rural settings, Spread Happiness Foundation, in collaboration with Hitachi Lift India, organized a significant health camp in a remote village near Bhor, situated approximately 65 kilometers from Pune. This initiative reflects the ongoing dedication of the foundation to prioritize the health concerns of women residing in village communities.

The focal point of the event was menstrual hygiene, as part of the “Happy Flow” initiative. Ms. Priti Dhone and Ms. Karuna Behera spearheaded an enlightening awareness session, offering vital insights into menstrual hygiene management to the attendees. The session garnered positive feedback and emphasized the indispensable nature of adopting proper menstrual hygiene practices.

The inauguration of the camp was graced by Mr. Soumya Mahapatra, Founder Chairman of Spread Happiness Foundation. Mr. Anand Mahapatra extended a warm welcome to the employees from Hitachi who actively participated in the event, highlighting the collaborative spirit between the foundation and Hitachi Lift India.

Mr. Padmanavh Panse delivered an inspiring address on behalf of Hitachi, reaffirming their commitment to enhancing women’s health and hygiene, particularly in underserved regions. The camp witnessed an impressive turnout, with over 150 attendees, comprising school and college girls, working women, and homemakers.

In a significant gesture of support, sanitary pads and menstrual cups were distributed to all the women in attendance. This initiative is part of Spread Happiness Foundation’s broader campaign, which has already distributed over 15,000 sanitary pads and menstrual cups across slums, schools, and to those in need.

The successful execution of the camp was made possible through the dedicated efforts of local representatives and social workers, including Mr. Ganesh and Mr. Sonam Mohite, who ensured the seamless coordination of the event. Their contributions played a pivotal role in the educational success of the camp.

This initiative underscores the joint commitment of Spread Happiness Foundation and Hitachi Lift India to enhance women’s health and hygiene in remote areas. The interactive and informative nature of the camp was well-received by the attendees, further reinforcing its impact.

In closing, Mr. Pradeep Behera, a member of Spread Happiness Foundation, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all those present, marking the conclusion of a successful and meaningful event.
