In a spirited celebration of International Women’s Day, MIT-ADT University in Pune orchestrated a special ceremony to honor women who have excelled in their diverse fields. The event was designed to spotlight the achievements of women and underscore their indispensable roles in society.
The ceremony, attended by distinguished guests such as Deputy Speaker of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Dr Neelam Gorhe and Mumbai Income Tax Commissioner Dr Pallavi Darade, showcased the remarkable accomplishments of women from various backgrounds.
Dr Gorhe underscored the importance of women supporting one another and called for a shift in societal mindset, advocating for increased appreciation and recognition of women’s contributions. She commended the university for its commitment to empowering women and fostering inclusivity.
Dr Darade echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the pivotal role of education in empowering women and highlighting the need for equal opportunities in the workforce.
Prof Dr Sunita Karad, the Executive Director of MIT-ADT University, illuminated the institution’s initiatives geared towards promoting women’s empowerment. She applauded the award recipients for their outstanding achievements and highlighted the university’s dedication to cultivating a supportive environment for women to thrive.
The ceremony concluded with the acknowledgment of ten exemplary women achievers, including plastic surgeon Dr Ujwala Dahiphale, managing director of Kan Biosys Sandipa Kanitkar, and head of Kamani Tubes Dr Kalpana Saroj, among others. Each awardee was praised for their exceptional contributions and groundbreaking work in their respective fields.
