In a prestigious event held at Hotel Grand Sheraton, Raja Bahadur Mills Road, Pune, the Deccan Chamber of Commerce Industries & Agriculture (DCCIA) presented its Annual Awards, honoring individuals and organizations for their exemplary contributions to various facets of business and society.
Sanjay Kirloskar, Managing Director of Kirloskar Brothers Ltd., delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the importance of entrepreneurship grounded in principles of quality, values, and sustainability. Inder Jain, the visionary behind APPL Industries Ltd., received ‘The DCCIA – Lifetime Achievement Award 2023’ for his remarkable contributions to the polymer compound manufacturing sector. Diya Garware Ibanez was honored with ‘The DCCIA Award for Excellence – Best Industrialist 2023’ in recognition of her transformative leadership at Garware Fulflex.
Rear Admiral Purushottam Dutt Sharma (Retd) was presented with the ‘DCCIA Pune Award for Excellence – Social Service 2023’ for his commendable efforts in community safety and life-saving skills training.
Additionally, ‘DCCIA Best HR Practices Award’ was conferred upon Wika Instruments Pvt Ltd., and ‘DCCIA Best Safety Practices Award’ was bestowed upon ITC Ltd. These awards underscored the significance of innovation, safety, and human resource management in organizational success.

H P Srivastava emphasized Pune’s importance as an industrial hub and the need for policies that attract entrepreneurs and investors. He lauded the “Maharashtra Industry, Trade and Investment Facilitation Act 2023” while urging its effective implementation to streamline business processes.
