X-Men’ Actor Adan Canto Passes Away at 42 After Brave Battle with Cancer

In a tragic turn of events, Hollywood actor Adan Canto, famous for his roles in ‘The Cleaning Lady’ and ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ has passed away at the age of 42. The versatile actor battled privately against appendiceal cancer, ultimately succumbing to the illness.

Adan Canto gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Arman Morales in the TV series ‘The Cleaning Lady.’ In the show, he played a complex character, a gangster who ropes a mother into his criminal syndicate as a cleaner following a brutal murder. The recently concluded second season left fans eagerly awaiting the premiere of Season 3, scheduled for March 5, with Arman’s character facing incarceration and Thony taking charge of his affairs.

The actor is survived by his wife, Stephanie Ann Canto, and their two children, Roman Alder and Eve Josephine.

Adan’s Work Front

Canto marked his American acting debut in 2013 with the Fox crime thriller series ‘The Following,’ starring alongside Kevin Bacon. His career flourished with roles in ABC’s sitcom ‘Mixology,’ Netflix’s crime drama ‘Narcos,’ and series like ‘Blood and Oil’ and ‘Second Chance.’ Notably, Canto played the superhero Sunspot in the 2014 film ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past.’

In 2016, the actor joined the cast of Fox’s ‘Designated Survivor’ as Vice President Aaron Shore, sharing the screen with Kiefer Sutherland’s US President Tom Kirkman. Alongside his acting career, Canto showcased his talent behind the camera, directing two short films, ‘Before Tomorrow’ in 2014 and ‘The Shot’ in 2020.

Canto’s filmography also includes ‘Amanda and Jack Go Glamping,’ ‘2 Hearts,’ ‘Bruised,’ ‘The Devil Below,’ and ‘Agent Game.’
