Celebrating Excellence in Comedy: Prestigious Honor for Veteran Actress
Veteran actress Vishakha Subhedar is set to be felicitated with the prestigious Ram Nagarkar Kala Gaurav Award 2024, an esteemed recognition jointly presented by the Ram Nagarkar Kala Academy and Belvalkar Sanskrutik Manch. The announcement was made by Dr. Vaijayanti Vandan Nagarkar, daughter-in-law of Ram Nagarkar, and Sameer Belvalkar of the Belvalkar Sanskrutik Manch.
Established in 2021 in memory of the renowned comedian Ram Nagarkar, the award aims to acknowledge outstanding contributions to the field of comedy. The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 6th April, at 5:30 PM at the SM Joshi Auditorium, Navi Peth. Entry to the program is free for all on a first-come, first-served basis.
Reflecting on the significance of the award, Dr. Vaijayanti Nagarkar expressed, “During last year’s award ceremony, my husband Vandan Nagarkar announced that the next award would be bestowed upon the well-known and beloved comedy actress Vishakha Subhedar. It gives us immense pleasure to fulfill his wish after his demise last year.”
Furthermore, Dr. Vaijayanti Nagarkar and Sameer Belvalkar highlighted, “This marks the fourth year of the award. In the previous three editions of the ‘Ram Nagarkar Kala Gaurav’ Award, distinguished comedians like Bhau Kadam, Nilesh Sable, and Sameer Choughule have been honored. This year, the award will be presented at the hands of ‘Maharashtra Chi Hasya Jatra’ directors Sachin Mote and Sachin Goswami.”
The ‘Ram Nagarkar Kala Gaurav Award’ comprises a cash prize of Rs. 11,000 along with a certificate and badge of honor.
The award ceremony will commence with a presentation of Ram Nagarkar’s popular program ‘Ramanagari’ by his eldest daughter, Manda Hegde. Following the award ceremony, the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy an interview with Vishakha Subhedar conducted by the renowned Marathi anchor Rajesh Damle.
