The studio revealed that the title and the first look of the film will be unveiled on the auspicious occasion of Pongal in January 2024. Maruthi, known for his directorial ventures such as “Ee Rojullo,” “Bus Stop,” “Shailaja Reddy Alludu,” “Manchi Rojulochaie,” and “Pakka Commercial,” expressed his excitement about this collaboration with Prabhas. He shared the news on social media, stating, “Excited and been waiting for this moment for a long time! Happy to present Rebel Star #Prabhas in a brand new avatar. Prabhas, whose recent film “Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire” directed by Prashanth Neel achieved remarkable success, grossing over Rs 500 crore in worldwide collections. The actor is set to captivate audiences in his next venture, “Kalki 2898 AD,” directed by Nag Ashwin. This sci-fi film also stars legendary actors Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan, along with Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani. The much-anticipated film is scheduled for release in 2024.
