Renowned actor Mithun Chakraborty, known for his legendary contributions to Bollywood, has been admitted to a hospital in Kolkata after complaining of chest pain on Saturday morning. While concerns spread among fans, his family has responded, terming it a “routine checkup” and emphasizing that he is in good health.
Mithun’s elder son, Mimoh Chakraborty, clarified to indianexpress.com, “He (Mithun Chakraborty) is 100 percent fine, and it’s a routine checkup.”
As per a report by India Today, sources close to the actor revealed that he was feeling uneasy, leading to his admission to the hospital. Medical evaluation, including an MRI, is underway, with further tests being conducted. The hospital spokesperson stated, “Mithun Chakraborty has been admitted this morning and is undergoing medical evaluation. We will be able to provide further details later.”
The actor, also a prominent BJP leader, was brought to the hospital around 10.30 am. The reports of the MRI are awaited, and he is currently under the supervision of a neuromedicine specialist, according to a doctor at the hospital. Mithun was in Kolkata for the filming of “Shastri.”
Mithun Chakraborty, recently honored with the Padma Bhushan in January 2024, has had a prolific career in Hindi, Bengali, Odia, Bhojpuri, and Tamil cinema, amassing around 350 films. His son, Mimoh Chakraborty, expressed joy over the prestigious award in an interview with ETimes last month.
