Lights, Camera, No Action: PVR Denies Claims of Bias in Favor of ‘Dunki’ Over ‘Salaar’

Controversial reports suggesting a preference for Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ over Prabhas’ ‘Salaar’ in North India have been officially refuted by Kamal Gianchandani, President of the Multiplex Association of India and Chief Business Planning & Strategy at PVR Ltd. Gianchandani addressed the allegations during a statement at PVR Inox, laying to rest speculations of biased showcasing practices.

In response to the circulating claims, Gianchandani stated, “We’ve noticed some strange online claims about unfair showcasing practices at PVRINOX. We deeply respect all film producers choosing our theatres. Disagreements in business happen with big film releases. This isn’t new, and things will resolve. Dismiss these unfounded theories.”

The rumors had suggested that exhibitors were favoring Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ over Prabhas’ ‘Salaar,’ leading to a decision by Salaar’s producers to withhold the film from certain PVR-Inox and Miraj theaters in specific regions. However, PVR has officially reassured the public that such claims are unfounded.

This clarification comes as a relief to moviegoers and fans eagerly awaiting the release of both films. The statement from PVR emphasizes the commitment to fair and unbiased practices in showcasing films across their theaters.
