Brace yourselves for the digital premiere of the highly acclaimed film of 2023, ‘Animal,’ featuring Ranbir Kapoor. According to recent reports circulating in the entertainment industry, the movie is set to make its OTT debut on Netflix this January 26, coinciding with Republic Day.
While Netflix has not officially confirmed or denied the release date, a tweet from the Twitter handle OTTGuru seems to have spilled the beans, stating, “Animal OTT release, Jan 26!”
In addition to the anticipated digital release, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has hinted at an extended OTT version of the film. In an interview with Komal Nahta, Vanga revealed plans to incorporate scenes that were initially cut from the theatrical release, extending the OTT version beyond its original runtime of three hours and 21 minutes.
“I should have left the 3 hours 30 minutes instead of 3 hours 21 minutes. Now, I will be using those 5-6 minutes extra,” shared the director.
About ‘Animal’: The film, featuring an ensemble cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandana, Bobby Deol, Tripti Dimri, Pran, and others, explores a gripping and gruesome tale of a son’s intense devotion to his absentee father. Despite facing criticism from some critics, ‘Animal’ emerged as a box-office sensation, crossing the Rs 850 crore mark globally.
As the countdown to the OTT release begins, fans can look forward to an extended version of the film, promising an even more immersive experience.
