Unique Opportunity for Failed Engineering Students in Maharashtra to Progress Academically

Pune, 18th August 2023: A ray of hope is emerging for students grappling with academic setbacks in the field of engineering. The Department of Higher and Technical Education in Maharashtra has introduced a novel provision aimed at assisting students who have faced failures during their first and second years of the diploma course within the academic year 2023-24.

This exceptional initiative allows these students to address their pending coursework and move forward to the subsequent semester or year.

Minister Chandrakant Patil shared this important update through a tweet, highlighting the wide-ranging impact of this decision. This opportunity is set to benefit around 58,000 students. Patil underscored that the regulatory council of the Maharashtra State Technical Education Board, acknowledging the unique challenges faced by engineering students, has implemented this decision with their best interests at heart.

Under this program, students who have not been able to progress successfully during their initial and second years of the degree program will receive a singular opportunity to complete their curriculum requirements for the upcoming semester or academic year in 2023-24. Patil emphasized that this measure offers a valuable chance for these students to bridge the gap and move forward confidently in their educational journey.

This initiative not only offers a lifeline to struggling students but also underscores the commitment of educational authorities to ensure that every student has a fair opportunity to succeed and achieve their academic goals.
