Stay Prepared: CBSE Unveils Practical Exam Dates for Winter Schools

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has unveiled the official schedule for practical examinations for classes X and XII, focusing primarily on schools in winter-bound regions. In a formal notification available on the board’s website, cbse.gov.in, the CBSE has outlined the practical exam dates designated for these classes, exclusively set for the winter session. It’s essential to note that these dates are specifically for winter-bound schools, and a separate schedule will be issued for other schools.

Navigating the Winter School Practical Exams: CBSE’s Plan

For students enrolled in winter schools, practical exams and internal assessments for classes X and XII are slated to kick off on November 14, 2023, and continue until December 14, 2023. It’s crucial to understand that these dates are applicable solely to winter schools. Students are encouraged to remain updated by regularly visiting the official CBSE portal.

Key Highlights from the Official Notice

One pivotal aspect underscored in the official announcement is the swift uploading of marks obtained in all practical exams by the respective schools. The deadline for this mark upload coincides with the final day of the practical examination period. The CBSE has clearly stated that no extensions will be granted for mark uploads beyond this date.

For class 10 practical exams, the CBSE will not appoint external examiners. Schools are entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing the practical examination arrangements themselves. Moreover, the board will not provide practical answer sheets, placing the onus on schools to ensure a seamless and equitable evaluation process.

Conversely, class 12 practical exams will see the CBSE assigning external examiners in each school to oversee the examination process. This move is aimed at upholding the quality and fairness of evaluation for class 12 students.

Uniformity in Evaluation Process

In a recent development, the CBSE has announced that the answer sheets for the forthcoming 12th Commerce examination will adhere to the same format as answer sheets for other subjects. This standardization is designed to ensure consistency in the evaluation process across diverse subjects.

Staying Informed and Prepared

Winter-bound schools and their students are strongly advised to consult the official CBSE notification for further details and specific guidelines concerning these practical exams. The CBSE remains unwavering in its commitment to conducting fair and transparent exams for all students and schools under its jurisdiction. For regular schools, the board will release practical exam dates separately in due course.

As the CBSE continues to navigate the challenges posed by the ongoing pandemic, it remains steadfast in upholding educational standards and ensuring the welfare of students and school staff. Keep an eye out for additional updates regarding practical exams for regular schools.
