Southern Command Ethics Bowl Competition 2023: Army Public School, Pune Emerges Victorious, Set to Compete at National Level

Pune, 11th July 2023: The Southern Command Ethics Bowl Competition 2023, held at Charak Auditorium, Command Hospital, Southern Command, was a platform for young minds to engage in thought-provoking discussions and presentations on ethically challenging topics. The event, which took place on 11th July 2023, witnessed the brilliance of the participants from Army Public School, Pune and Army Public School, Bolarum, as they competed in the finals of the prestigious Command level Ethics Bowl Competition.

The competition began with an exhilarating opening ceremony, featuring a welcome address by Army Public School, Pune, followed by a captivating Ganesh Vandana performance by talented young dancers. The event was inaugurated by Subeena Arora, Ex Officio Regional President AWWA (SC), in the presence of distinguished judges, dignitaries, and esteemed guests.

The panel of judges included Abhishek Kumar, CISSP Vice President, Regional Security Master Card, Adv. Anubha Shrivastava Sahai, a reputed practicing lawyer with Bombay High Court and Supreme Court, and Anjali Banarji, an eminent educationist. Suman Tiwari served as the moderator for the event.

Both teams showcased their impressive command of arguments, employing logic, evidence, and rhetorical techniques to support their positions. The competition was a true battle of intellect and wits, providing valuable insights for all attendees.

The grand finale of the event witnessed a display of a wide range of emotions by the young talents of Army Public School, Pune. Through their performances, they highlighted the dualities of life – the good and the bad, the beautiful and the ugly, the strong and the weak, success and failure. Their captivating presentation reminded everyone of the existence of a silver lining behind every cloud.

The competition lasted for nearly three hours, with both teams presenting compelling arguments and providing irrefutable explanations for every ethical question posed to them. After a rigorous session of arguments and cross-examinations, Army Public School, Pune emerged as the victor of the Command level Ethics Bowl Competition. Their remarkable ability to present persuasive arguments and dismantle their opponents’ positions impressed both the judges and the audience.

Army Public School, Pune will now represent the Southern Command at the National Level Ethics Bowl Competition to be held in Delhi. The team has been recognized for their outstanding performance and will compete against other top schools from across the country.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Anita Sharma, Principal of Army Public School Pune. Subeena Arora, the esteemed Chief Guest, commended the efforts of both the teams and the organizers and extended her best wishes to the victorious team for the upcoming National Level Ethics Bowl Competition.
