Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) to Hold 122nd Convocation on July 1st, 2023

Pune: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) is gearing up for its 122nd Convocation Ceremony, which is scheduled to take place on July 1, 2023. The ceremony will be held at the Khashaba Jadhav Indoor Sports Complex, located on the university campus. The esteemed event will be presided over by Ramesh Bais, the Governor of Maharashtra and the Chancellor of SPPU.

The convocation ceremony will witness the presence of notable dignitaries, including Shri Chandrakantdada Patil, Minister of Higher and Technical Education, Textiles, Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Maharashtra, and Guardian Minister of Pune. Dr. Rajesh Gokhale, Secretary of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, will also grace the occasion as a special guest.

A significant number of students will be awarded their graduation certificates during the convocation. A total of 1,21,281 students have successfully completed their undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in various disciplines between April and May 2022. Among the recipients, 93,983 students will be receiving undergraduate degrees, 26,454 students will be receiving postgraduate degrees, 438 students will be awarded Ph.D. degrees, and 11 students will be honored with M.Phil. degrees. The Vice-Chancellor will present a total of 107 gold medals to 70 deserving students, comprising 30 male and 40 female students.

Aditi Kalidas Bhoite, a student of Ramkrishna More Arts, Commerce, and Science College, Akurdi, Pune, will be the proud recipient of the prestigious President’s Gold Medal. The ceremony will recognize and felicitate the recipients of the gold medals, while the degrees of the remaining students will be sent to their respective addresses through the postal service.

The 122nd Convocation Ceremony of SPPU serves as a momentous occasion for students, marking the culmination of their academic journey and the beginning of new opportunities. The university aims to celebrate their achievements and inspire them to contribute to society positively.
