R Madhavan Appointed as Chairman of India’s Esteemed FTII

Renowned actor R Madhavan has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Film Television Institute of India (FTII) by the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. This prestigious appointment was greeted with congratulations from Union Minister Anurag Thakur, who expressed confidence in Madhavan’s extensive experience and strong ethics contributing to the institute’s growth.

In a tweet, Minister Thakur said, “Heartiest congratulations to @ActorMadhavan ji on being nominated as President of @FTIIOfficial and Chairman of the governing council. I’m sure that your vast experience & strong ethics will enrich this institute, bring positive changes, & take it to a higher level. My best wishes to you.”

Madhavan, who recently directed the film ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect,’ which received a national award for the best feature film, will succeed filmmaker Shekhar Kapoor at FTII. Notably, actor Anupam Kher also served as the president of this prestigious film institute for a one-year term. Madhavan is widely recognized for his roles in Bollywood and South Indian films, with the film ‘Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein’ being one of his most notable works. This appointment further solidifies his role in the Indian film industry.
