CBSE Dismisses Fake Notice on Class 12 Board Exam Postponement Amid Farmers’ Protest Rumors

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has unequivocally debunked a false notice circulating on social media, falsely asserting the postponement of Class 12 Board Exams due to the ongoing Farmers’ Protest. The board emphasized the inaccuracy of the misleading advisory, cautioning students against relying on misinformation that has caused unnecessary apprehension. CBSE took to Twitter to clarify the situation, denouncing the fake notice and issuing a warning.

In a tweet, CBSE stated, “#CBSE FACT CHECK! Beware! The following letter under circulation is FAKE and misleading. The board has not taken any such decision.” The misleading notice, purportedly issued by CBSE, falsely attributes the postponement to issues arising from the Farmers’ Protest and provides false information about requesting changes in exam locations or dates.

Traffic Advisory and Measures Taken by CBSE

To ensure students’ timely arrivals at exam centers, CBSE had earlier issued a traffic advisory for both Class 10 and 12 exams. In light of the ongoing protests, Delhi students were recommended to use metro facilities for seamless transportation.

CBSE has also cautioned against fake social media handles misusing the board’s name and emblem, reaffirming its commitment to transparent communication regarding any modifications to the exams. The board stressed the importance of relying solely on official CBSE channels for authentic information.

The Class 10 and 12 CBSE exams commenced on February 15, with the official datesheet 2024 indicating March 13 and April 2 as the respective end dates for the exams. Students are urged to stay informed through reliable sources and disregard false information circulating on social media.
