Academic Pause: Pune University Adjusts Schedule, Declares Holiday for Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir Event

Pune, India – In response to the notification issued by the General Administration Department of the Government of Maharashtra, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has announced a holiday for all its departments and affiliated colleges across the state. The circular, released on January 19, conveys the decision to postpone all exams originally scheduled for January 22, 2024. The university assures that the rescheduled dates will be communicated soon.

The directive, issued by the Director of the Exam Control Department, applies to affiliated colleges in Nashik, Ahmednagar, and Pune districts. The decision aligns with the broader approach of several state governments that have declared holidays for their employees, facilitating attendance at the Ayodhya Ram Mandir Inauguration ceremony.

As January 22 approaches, a grand ceremony is set to mark the culmination of rituals at Ayodhya, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi presiding over the event. The occasion is expected to draw the participation of various Very Very Important Persons (VVIPs).
