Indian Army Pays Tribute To Pune Soldier Hav Dilip Balasaheb Ozarkar

The Indian Army came together in a poignant ceremony to pay heartfelt tributes to one of its own, Havildar Dilip Balasaheb Ozarkar, a native of Bhavani Peth, Pune. Havildar Ozarkar made the ultimate sacrifice while towing Artillery Guns, just 13 kilometers short of Khalsi, Leh, on September 3, 2023, in service to the nation.

The mortal remains of this gallant soldier were transported with honor to Pune via an Air India flight on Monday night. At the airport, senior Army officers, representing the nation’s gratitude, laid wreaths in a solemn ceremony to honor his sacrifice. The mortal remains were then reverently taken to his hometown, Bhavani Peth, Pune, where a grief-stricken community gathered to bid farewell. In a moving and dignified ceremony, his final rites were performed, and a solemn Guard of Honour paid tribute to the braveheart.

Havildar Dilip Balasaheb Ozarkar had donned the uniform of the Indian Army in 2004, embarking on a journey of selfless service to the nation. At the time of his tragic demise, he was serving with the 94 Medium Regiment of the Regiment of Artillery. His commitment to duty and unwavering dedication to the nation’s defense made him a role model for many.

This courageous soldier leaves behind a heartbroken family, survived by his parents, wife, son, and daughter. His sacrifice serves as a poignant reminder of the immense sacrifices that our soldiers make daily to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty and protect the lives of its citizens.
