Dyson Unveils Groundbreaking Vacuum Innovation: A Wet Vacuum Cleaner that Mops Too

In a leap forward for home cleaning technology, Dyson has introduced a revolutionary wet vacuum cleaner that not only picks up dust but also washes the floor. The Dyson V15 Detect Submarine, set to launch on March 6th, combines the functionality of a traditional vacuum with a mop, promising a comprehensive and efficient cleaning solution.

This groundbreaking vacuum utilizes a separate head, aptly named “Submarine,” to function as a mop. The Submarine dispenses water onto the floor and subsequently extracts it along with any dirt it has picked up. Unlike other vacuum-mop hybrids, the Submarine is not integrated into the primary vacuum unit; instead, it is an attachable head. When mounted, the vacuum’s motor is redirected to the mop, allowing it to spray water effectively.

The Dyson V15 Detect Submarine offers a dual-action cleaning approach, requiring users to vacuum the floor first to pick up hair, dust, and debris before utilizing the mop function. Dyson emphasizes that the Submarine is designed to dispense the right amount of water to prevent excessive wetness on the floors. Water is sprayed through jets onto the floor, and the roller picks it up, squeezing it into a chamber filled with dirty water that can be easily emptied.

This innovative vacuum is equipped with Dyson’s recent technological advancements, including “Detect” technology featuring a laser mounted in the vacuum’s head. The laser illuminates the floor, revealing the level of dirt present.

While the Dyson V15 Detect Submarine has been available in the US and other markets, its official launch in the UK on March 6th is highly anticipated. Priced at £799.99, the vacuum represents Dyson’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of home cleaning technology.
