Ayodhya’s revered Ram temple has introduced a modification to its schedule to accommodate some rest time for the deity ‘Ram Lalla,’ a five-year-old representation of Lord Ram. Starting from Friday, the temple trust has extended the ‘darshan’ timings, allowing devotees access from 6 am to 10 pm. This change comes in response to the increased influx of devotees following the consecration ceremony.
Previously, the darshan timings were from 7 am to 6 pm, with a two-hour break from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. Chief Priest Acharya Satyendra Das clarified that the adjustment is made to provide rest to the child deity, stating, “Shri Ram Lalla is a five-year-old child and he cannot take the stress of staying awake for such long hours. So, to give some rest to the child deity, the trust has decided that the doors of the temple will remain closed from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm, so that the deity may take rest.”
The temple’s previous routine included morning rituals starting at 4 am, with ‘darshan’ allowed until 10 pm. Since the consecration ceremony on January 22, presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the temple has witnessed an overwhelming number of devotees seeking the blessings of Lord Ram Lalla.
Notable political figures like Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann have visited the temple, expressing their reverence. Kejriwal, who attended the consecration ceremony in January, recently offered prayers, expressing his desire to return with his family.
