The city of Pimpri is reeling from yet another incident of violence, further escalating the ongoing tensions between rival gangs. In a shocking turn of events, three criminals launched a vicious assault on a group of youths who had gathered to receive a recently released prisoner from Yerawada Jail. The incident has once again highlighted the prevalence of criminal activities and the urgent need for enhanced security measures in the area.
The victim, Vaibhav Huligappa Budgal, a 22-year-old resident of Vallabh Nagar, Pimpri, bravely reported the incident to the Yerawada police station. A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against Kallya, also known as Suraj Jadhav, a notorious criminal with a history of involvement in a murder case. Two of Jadhav’s associates have also been named in the FIR.
The unfortunate incident occurred at Golf Club Chowk in Yerawada on June 7, at approximately 8 pm. According to the police investigation, the complainant’s friend, Sushant Jadhav, who resides in Pimpri, shared a long-standing enmity with Suraj Jadhav, the main accused. Sushant Jadhav had recently secured bail and was released from Yerawada Jail. In a show of support, the complainant, along with Ajay Takalkar and Ayush Kamble, went to the jail to receive their friend upon his release.
After meeting with Suraj Jadhav, the group began their journey back to Pimpri. However, as they passed through Golf Club Chowk, Suraj Jadhav and two of his associates intercepted them. Without any provocation, they verbally abused the complainant and launched a violent assault, using an iron rod to strike his leg with tremendous force. The vicious attack left the complainant with a fractured right leg, while his two friends also suffered injuries during the altercation.
Following the incident, the victims sought immediate medical attention for their injuries. Subsequently, the complainant approached the Yerawada police station to file a formal complaint, prompting PSI Dombale to initiate an investigation into the case. The police are now actively working to apprehend the culprits and ensure that justice is served.
