Stalking Nightmare: Woman Threatened with Acid Attack in Pune’s Wadgaon Sheri

In a deeply distressing incident, a 19-year-old homemaker from Wadgaonsheri has filed a complaint with the Bund Garden police, alleging two months of relentless stalking and a horrifying threat of an acid attack by an unknown man. The victim, who has been visiting Sassoon General Hospital frequently with her sick mother, detailed her ordeal in an FIR.

According to Assistant Inspector Sandeep Madhale of the Bund Garden police, the woman and her mother utilized a PMPML bus for their commute from Wadgaonsheri to the hospital. The stalking had been ongoing for the past two months, escalating to a terrifying encounter at the PMPML bus stop near Pune railway station on a recent Saturday.

The assailant handed a polythene bag to the victim, containing a threatening note that explicitly conveyed the possibility of an acid attack. The note also included a phone number, instructing the woman to contact the stalker. The distressed woman, upon receiving the note, immediately reported the incident to the police.

As per the FIR, the woman received a note threatening her with acid if she did not make the call. Despite her efforts to contact the provided number, it was found to be switched off, intensifying her distress and anxiety. The Bund Garden police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
