Solapur: ASI lands in ACB net for seeking bribe of ₹5 lakh for himself and senior police inspector

SOLAPUR: The ACB has apprehended an ASI for demanding a bribe of ₹5 lakh for himself and senior PI and to render help to the complainant in a case registered against him and to release a pick up truck. The incident has created a flutter in the police department.

The ASI has been identified as Sanjay Manohar More (57), posted at Vijapur Naka police station, Solapur. More demanded a bribe of ₹5 lakh for himself and senior PI Hanpude Patil for rendering help in a case registered at the Vijapur Naka police station and to help release a pick up truck parked in the premises of the police station. Meanwhile, he agreed to accept the first instalment of ₹3 lakh and he was apprehended by the ACB.

An FIR has been registered at the Vijapur Naka police station. The action was taken under the guidance of Pune ACB SP Amol Tambe and Addl SP Sheetal Janve-Kharade by DySP Ganesh Kumbhar, PI Umakant Mahadik, PI Chandrakant Koli, policemen Shirishkumar Sonwane, Police Naik Atul Ghadge, Swamirao Jadhav, policeman Salim Mulla and driver Rahul Gaikwad in taking the action.
