Pune: Youth murdered for illicit relationship in Baner, suspect held in Ambarnath

Pune: A youth was killed by hitting him with a stone on his head at Dhankude Vasti in Baner on Sunday (June 9). The suspect, who was at large after the incident, was traced by the Crime Branch unit 4 of the Pune Police in Ambarnath in Thane district.

An investigation revealed that the murder was a result of an illicit relationship. The deceased person has been identified as Nana Vitthal Chadar (36), a resident of Wakad Gaothan. The arrested accused has been identified as Krushna Bhimrao Suroshe (40), a resident of Balewadi Gaothan, hailing from Parbhani district. Victim’s brother, Sachin Vitthal Chadar (34), lodged a complaint at the Chatuhshrungi Police Station in this regard. The police had registered a complaint against an unidentified person under section 302 of the IPC.

The accused and the complainant were friends. Krushna was living with his family at Ambarnath. Then he shifted to Balewadi, where he got to know Nana Chadar, who had an illicit relationship with a woman relative of the accused.

Both were drunkards. On June 7, Nana and his friend Ramdas Dhangude had liquor in an open space and went to sleep there. Later, Dhangude left the spot. The accused wanted to consume ganja in the wee hours that day. He arrived at the place where Nana Chadar was sleeping. The accused saw him fast asleep. He killed Nana by hitting a stone on his head and escaped.

The Crime Branch unit 4 detained Krushna Suroshe from Ambarnath on the basis of technical analysis. On sustained interrogation, he admitted to the murder.

The action was taken under the guidance of Addl CP Shailesh Balkawade, DCP Amol Zende and ACP Satish Govekar by a squad comprising PI Ganesh Mane, PSI Jaydeep Patil police personnel Vaibhav Magdum, Harish More, Saras Salvi, Pravin Bhalchim, Ajay Gaikwad, Sanjay Adhari, Vaibhav Ranpise, Nageshsinh Kunwar and Eknath Joshi.
