Pune: Youth gets lifer for brutal murder of youth

PUNE: Session Judge PP Jadhav sentenced a youth to life imprisonment and fined him ₹1 lakh for killing a youth for moving around with his girlfriend. The accused had invited the youth for giving him sheer khurma on Ramzan Eid but killed him and threw his body into a canal in Swargate area. The accused has been identified as Nizam Asgar Hashmi (19), a resident of Bibvewadi. The deceased has been identified as Umesh Bhimrao Ingle. Police Naik Basavraj Ujne had lodged a complaint.

The body of a youth had been found in Kondhwa on June 19. The body had been decapitated. The Kondhwa police had carried out a probe and arrested the accused Nizam. In this case, Addl Public Prosecutor Ad Namdev Taralgatti appeared on behalf of the government. On behalf of the prosecutor’s side, testimony of 24 witnesses were recorded. A sharp weapon used for committing the murder was seized and the PAN card of Umesh Ingle had been seized.

Hashmi had an affair with a girl. Since Umesh was moving around with the girl, Nizam was angry with him. He invited Umesh to his house on the pretext of offering him sheer khurma and assaulted with a sharp weapon. His head was severed and his body had been dumped in Kondhwa. The head had been dumped into a canal.

The then PSI of Kondhwa police station Santosh Shinde had probed the case. PSI Samadhan Machale, ASI Mahesh Jagtap and peon Ankush Kengle provided assistance in the judicial work
