Pune: Two thieves stole elderly woman gold jewellery worth Rs 2.5 lakh

Pune: Two thieves stole the gold bangles and mangalsutra from her neck worth Rs 2.5 lakh from the elderly woman on Friday at around 1 pm. A elderly woman has been identified as Lakshmibai Shiv Singh (75) a native of Pardeshspura, Junnar and currently staying at Andarsul Yeola in Nashik district. The two thieves have stolen four bangles worth of five tolas worth Rs 2 lakh and Mangalsutra worth Rs 50,000. Under the guidance of police inspector Narayan Pawar the Junnar police is further investigating the case.

Around 10 am in the morning in front of a textile shop in Sarai Pethe in Junnar, two unknown persons wearing black gray shirts and blue pants stopped Lakshmibai and made her sit on the ground saying that police checking was going on and why are you wearing bangles in your hands and they asked her to give bangles in the hands and also mangalsutra around the neck. The thieves pretended to keep the jewellery in her bag and engaged her in talking and later fled on a motorcycle with the gold jewellery it has been mentioned in the complaint by the complainant.
